The Horror Writers Association a  dat publicitatii nominalizarile la premiile  ”Bram Stoker Awards” pe 2008. Va reamintim ca premiile decernate din 1988 sunt oferite pentru cele mai bune lucrari horror ale anului precedent.

Duma Key – Stephen King (Scribner) – din 30 martie si in Romania in format Hardcover la Editura Nemira

Din prezentarea romanului citam:

Un groaznic accident pe un şantier de construcţii îi smulge braţul lui Edgar Freemantle, întunecându-i şi memoria şi mintea. Calvarul perioadei de recuperare îi provoacă schimbări de personalitate şi accese de furie necontrolată ce grăbesc sfârşitul căsniciei sale. Edgar îşi doreşte să nu fi supravieţuit accidentului, dar psihologul său îi recomandă un leac geografico-existenţial: îl sfătuieşte să îşi schimbe complet viaţa, părăsind oraşul aglomerat şi afacerile din domeniul construcţiilor.

Retras la Duma Key, în paradisul Golfului Mexic, Edgar începe să picteze cu pasiune, descoperindu-şi un talent extraordinar. Dar atras de o forţă ce îl depăşeşte, ca o constrângere. Multe din tablourile sale au o putere ce nu poate fi controlată, aproape mistică, scoţând la iveală secrete de mult îngropate, trezind nălucile copilăriei. Iar talentul său poate fi, în acelaşi timp, o armă…
